“Head Up, Phones Down” Initiative

Ensuring the safety and well-being of our students is a top priority for Miami Dade County Public Schools. To uphold our commitment to student safety, we are launching a district-wide campaign to discourage the use of cellphones and earbuds/headphones during class transitions. This initiative, developed in collaboration with the three regions, aims to address the health implications and safety risks associated with wireless communication devices. The campaign will be rolled out over the first nine weeks of the 2024-2025 school year, utilizing various educational and awareness strategies to create a safer learning environment for all students.
